2018 couldn’t have went any better for the Penn State Baseball Club capping off their season with a National Championship that was won in dramatic fashion.   After winning the extremely competitive North Atlantic West Conference, Penn State entered the Regional Tournament as the #1 seed.  In some very hard fought games, Penn State won 3 straight to capture 2nd Regional Championship in a row.  They entered the World Series as the #7 seed and had to face off against the defending National Champions, East Carolina in their opening round game.  After an 8-7 victory over ECU, the Nittany Lions went on to beat Iowa State and Oregon in their next two, which earned them a spot in the National Championship against none other than the Pirates from East Carolina.  Penn State showed how resilient of a bunch they were in the Championship game coming from behind twice late in the game.  Heading into the bottom of the 8th inning, they were down three but put a 3 spot on the board to tie the game up heading into the 9th.  After ECU regained the lead in the 9th by two runs, Penn State walked off in the bottom of the 9th to claim their 2nd ever National Championship.  Will Penn State have what it takes to win the North Atlantic again in 2019?  Check out the North Atlantic Team Previews to find out!
